Your marketplace companion.

For UK music gear buyers and resellers. In private testing.

A Chrome extension for buying and flipping second-hand music gear on Facebook Marketplace. It spots the model, then tells you what it's worth, what you'd make and what might be wrong.

Free while in testing. We'll email your invite, and once more at launch. Nothing else unless you tick the box. Never shared.

UK-only for now. Outside the UK? Join anyway and we'll email you once when it works where you are.

Every friend who joins from your link moves you up the tester queue - the link is in the welcome email we send to UK addresses.

How it works

A page of listings in. The few worth a look out.

Browse Marketplace as usual. flipper does the eBay checking you'd normally do in a second tab.

  1. Search Marketplace

Search for what you deal in. Set a maximum distance, or let flipper follow your search radius.

  2. Press Scan whole page

flipper scrolls the page and scores every listing as it loads. It stops at the end, or when you press Stop.

  3. Open the ones that survive

A results window ranks them by profit, return, price or sell speed. Open a promising one and flipper reads the description and photos too.

The flipper results window after a scan of eight listings. Each is ranked with a verdict such as "Great flip?" or "Worth it?" and its estimated profit and return. The selected Korg Minilogue XD shows asking price £280, working-order resale £330 to £400, estimated profit £77 at 27% return, and a max offer of £255.

Buying for yourself

Know what you want? Find it at the right price.

You've done the research. flipper does the price checking, so you only message the sellers worth it.

  1. Search the exact model

Search Marketplace for the thing you want and scan the page. Sort the results by price.

  2. See a fair price

Each listing is set against what that model really sells for used, with every price behind it. Overpriced ones stand out.

  3. Check it, then offer

flipper flags faults the seller mentions, rough repair costs and listings that have sat for weeks. Then it drafts a polite offer for you to send.

Show your working

Every number tells you where it came from.

Most tools give you a score and ask you to trust it. flipper shows every figure behind the estimate and which one it's using. Delete any that look wrong.

  • Six sources, ranked. The best one with data wins, and the panel says which.
  • When it's running on its own estimate, it says so. It never presents a guess as a fact.
  • Check a model once against real sold listings, type in the range, and flipper uses your number from then on.

The accepted-offer problem

When an eBay seller accepts an offer, the sold listing still shows the original asking price. On used gear that's a lot of sales, so raw sold prices run high.

flipper leaves out sales marked "Best offer accepted", and reads eBay's Product Research for what buyers really paid.

  1. Verified by you 1stA range you typed in after checking real sold listings. It beats everything else.
  2. Confirmed sales 2ndWhat buyers actually paid, accepted offers included. Read from eBay's Product Research in Seller Hub.
  3. Sold prices 3rdRecorded from eBay sold pages as you browse, filed under the exact model. Two or more replace the built-in estimate.
  4. Live eBay asking prices 4thOptional. Current used listings across eBay UK, through eBay's official API and your own keys.
  5. Asking prices 5thWhat sellers are asking on Marketplace and eBay. Four or more nudge the built-in range. Silly prices are ignored.
  6. Built-in estimate 6thOver 800 ranges, about 600 for exact models. Always labelled as an estimate.

A verdict in words

The exact model and version

Limited, signature, reissue and anniversary versions keep their own sold prices. With no data yet, it uses the standard model and says so.

Faults and what they cost

Spots "not working", "crackly" or "no power supply", then gives the likely fault, how hard it is to fix, rough cost and where to get parts.

Warning signs, called out

Flags deposit requests, moves to WhatsApp, stock photos, copies and prices too good to be true. Plus a checklist before you pay.

A whole page at once

Scan a search page, then sort and filter the results in one window. Tick several to track, copy or put away.

Track it, then sell it

Log what you paid, spent and sold for, and see your real profit. When you relist, flipper fills in Facebook's form. You press Publish.

Optional, with your own keys

Photo inspection

Add your own AI key and flipper checks the photos for damage, missing parts, stock images and fakes. Google's free tier works, no card needed.

Live eBay prices

Add your free eBay developer keys to see what used ones are listed for across eBay UK right now.

Coming later

A price pool built from testers' real sales.

Not running yet. When it is, testers can choose to share their own deal outcomes, so estimates draw on what gear really sold for.

What a tester could share

  • The model, version and category
  • What they paid, spent on repair and sold for
  • Where it sold, and the month
  • Its rough condition, and whether it was repaired or sold with extras
  • flipper's own estimate at the time, when it came from the built-in table

Never shared

  • Any price flipper reads from eBay or Facebook
  • Listing links, text or photos
  • Names, email addresses or exact dates

Off unless you switch it on, and you'll see every row before it's sent. Your own sales and verified ranges always rank above it.

Honest limits

What flipper won't do.

A smaller promise it can keep beats a big one it can't.

  • Watch Marketplace for youNo alerts. It scores what's in front of you, not every new listing.
  • Browse on its ownIt never opens, searches or refreshes pages. Scan only scrolls the page you're on.
  • Act on your accountsIt doesn't message sellers, make offers or press Publish. Every click that matters is yours.
  • Pass off a guess as a factIts own estimates are always labelled as estimates.
  • Go quiet when Facebook changesIf it can't read listings, it tells you. Diagnose this tab shows what it can see.
  • Tell you what to buyYou get the numbers and their sources. The decision is yours.

Price

£0 for testers

Every feature, for everyone on the tester list. No card and no trial clock.

If that ever changes, this is the promise

  1. The price is on this page before you sign up for anything.
  2. There's no card needed to try it.
  3. You can cancel in one click, inside the extension.
  4. Your plan and renewal date are always on show.
  5. Cancelling never touches your data. It's on your computer, not ours.
